Children's Ministry

Matthew 19: 14

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Sunday School

Children’s Sunday school takes place at 9 AM each Sunday, followed by worship at 10 AM. This Sunday School program is meant for kids ages 4 through 5th grade.

Nursery

For infants and toddlers, we offer a nursery during worship and Sunday school. If parents wish for their children to partake in service, we welcome them! For those who wish for their children to attend the nursery, we have a safe play space for them with childcare.

Kid’s Corner

During our worship service, we offer time for children to learn. Our Christian Education Director, Ms. Kate, and her team of volunteers have a children’s message at the front, called Kid’s Corner.  We welcome kids of all ages to come forward to participate and learn. *We do not offer Kid's Corner on Communion Sundays, due to time restraints, but do provide additional items in the kids' busy bags for these days.

Busy Bags

Busy bags are provided in the hallway to the right of the sanctuary as well as by the narthex entrance. These bags are full of quiet activities to help our littlest members stay busy - in a faithful way - in the pews. Please grab one for your child on Sundays! Bags can be returned after service so that they are refilled and prepared for the next Sunday.

Summer Programming

Our summer programming, called SON-Shine Days, are held on Tuesday nights in July. These are spiritual events that include a snack supper, Bible story, music & dancing, arts & crafts, games, and more! Check out our 2023 and 2024 recap videos to see what a wonderful time we have each night!

Seasonal Events

Each year, we celebrate the seasons with special children's events. We have children's Easter and Christmas parties during the Choir's traditional holiday cantata performances during worship, where our children have lessons, snacks, activities and crafts together. We also have special summer programming (see above), and we offer an Easter Egg Hunt in the spring, in which we partner with our friends at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, and a Trunk or Treat in the fall, which is in tandem with the downtown Dandridge businesses.
