Reverend Dr. Kristen Burkhart

Rev. Dr. Kristen Burkhart has been a Pastor in the Holston Conference since 2006 and has a heart for reaching the least, the last, and the lost. She tries to promote healthy family systems and encourage leaders, while placing a focus on making, growing, and sending forth disciples of Jesus Christ. When in the pulpit, she enjoys preaching the scripture in a practical, life application storytelling manor to relate the love and mission of Jesus Christ. She and her husband, Phillip Archer have a daughter, Joanna, and a son, Abraham.

Kristen is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with my a Bachelor's in Social Services. She received her Masters of Divinity from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and her Doctorate of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC.

Kristen believes "Ministry is not always about the big things or the numbers we can measure. Sometimes it's about one called person reaching out to another in a season of need and in that moment when one heart connects to another's we glimpse the heart of God."




Christian Education Director

Kate Doyle Miller

Kate Doyle Miller is a graduate of Carson-Newman University, BA in Communications, and Austin Peay State University, MA in Communications. Kate serves as Christian Education Director, assisting and shepherding educational efforts for all ages, children through senior adults. Previous to this wider role, Kate had specifically served our youth and young adults. She has a passion for discipleship and Biblical education. 

Kate lives in Strawberry Plains, TN with her sons AJ,Teddy, and Franklin, her husband Jake, their dog Flash, and their cats Chex, Garth, and Cash. In her spare time, she loves reading, writing, crafting, and cooking/baking! Her favorite Bible verses are Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 12:9, and Jeremiah 1:5. 

DFUMC is her home church, where she attended youth group years ago. She loves serving the DFUMC family!

Dr. Morgan Brower

Dr. Morgan Brower grew up in the small town of Bulls Gap, TN and has recently returned to the Knoxville area after living in Nashville and Virginia for the last 11 years. She received her B.M. from Middle Tennessee State University aand her M.M. and D.M.A. in voice performance from Shenandoah Conservatory. Alongside performing and teaching voice, Dr. Brower has 10+ years of experience as a church musician and director in various demoninations.

 

Morgan, her husband, Michael, and son, Ellis, are new residents of Strawberry Plains and are very excited to make DFUMC a part of their new home.




Business Administrator

Pam Balough

Pam Balough joined DFUMC as the Financial Secretary in November 2013. She has served in several capacities over the years. She is now serving once again as Business Administrator in the dual role of Financial Secretary and Administrative Assistant. Pam has worked in church and ministry administration for over 23 years. Working in a church office is where God has gifted her!

Pam and her husband Tim live in Dandridge. She is dedicated to her church, Manley Baptist, where she teaches Women’s Bible Studies and serves on the Women’s Ministry Council.

 Pam considers DFUMC her second church home, where the members feel like they are family!
