Young Adults

Young Adult Ministry

What makes a “young adult?”

This group is for those between high school graduation and their mid-thirties.

recent high school graduate | college student | young professionals | young married or engaged couple | parent to young children

Sunday School

Join us for a casual Sunday school experience at 10 AM. No curriculum, no "teacher," no stuffy atmosphere. Simply join us for coffee, conversation, and episode of a video series!

*In fall and advent of 2024, our young adults are invited to join with two other adult classes (New Hope and Kingdom Builders) for studies in the New Hope Classroom.

Monthly In-Person Gatherings

Monthly in-person gatherings at rotating locations and/or in our Young Adult room at the church, located in the rear/basement entrance. These events are "dessert & devotion" - where a dessert is provided and a devotional reading of the scripture, with group discussion, is offered.

Seasonal Virtual Series

Our program offers short, online videos and self-paced PDF guides for guided Bible study. These sessions are approx. 10 minutes or less, and are found on our YouTube Channel (Dandridge First UMC) under the Young Adult playlist OR on this webpage (below this paragraph). Because they are short in nature, they're perfect for a busy, young adult life style - on the go! Hopefully you will receive some inspiration as you seek to grow your faith as you grow into adulthood.

Mission + Outreach

Our group tries to do two mission projects a year - one in the spring and one in the fall.

For spring 2024, we collected diapers for a local family-planning resource center, Life Outreach Center, in our county, which offers free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling, parenting classes, and necessary supplies to mothers & expectant mothers in our community. Diapers were collected in the young adult room in March 2024.

In fall 2024, we supported the congregation's efforts to fill buckets with necessary cleaning supplies for the victims of Hurricane Helene in the Appalachian region. Our group assembled 3 buckets to support 3 households as they recover from the recent devastating weather.

We also often try to support our church's blessing box.

Newsletters

Starting in fall 2024, a newsletter each semester is being sent to our college students in their semester care packages and will be available digitally for other young adults in our group.
